IRCC invited over 7,000 candidates under the International Experience Canada

Over the last week, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held new draws in the pools of International Experience Canada (IEC). From January 14 to January 21, Canada invited 7,474 young foreigners to apply for an IEC open work permit. As of January 21, there were 34,358 candidates registered in the pool, waiting for the invitation. On June 24, 2024, the Government of Canada introduced significant updates to the Home Child Care Provider and Home Support Worker Pilots , aimed at simplifying the path to permanent residence for caregivers. These changes, effective from June 16, 2024, reflect Canada's commitment to supporting essential workers in these vital roles. Key Amendments to the Caregiver Pilots Reduced Work Experience Requirement: One of the most notable updates is the reduction in the required work experience from 12 months to just 6 months. This change is designed to expedite the path to permanent residency, allowing caregivers to transition more quickly and efficiently. Manitoba invited 163 candidates through two Manitoba PNP streams

This round saw the issuance of 163 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to candidates across two primary streams: the Skilled Workers Overseas (SWO) stream and the International Education Stream (IES). Skilled Workers Overseas Stream The Skilled Workers Overseas stream continues to be a vital pathway for international candidates aspiring to make Manitoba their new home. In this latest round, MPNP issued 52 LAAs to candidates under the Strategic Recruitment Initiative. To qualify for an invitation, candidates in this category needed a minimum score of 721 points.
